Marshal Weltin raced to eleventh overall from eleventh and seventeenth placing’s in the two motos as he was again handicapped by a poor starting place as he continues to come to terms with the unusual flying lap qualification system. The opening turn at Kegums favours the inside gate more than any other track on the schedule and from twenty-fifth position and from eighteenth and twenty-seventh on the opening lap of the two motos the young American needed all his track craft to advance seven positions in the opening moto and ten in race two. His perseverance paid dividends as he now holds eleventh place in the series standings.
 
Fellow American Tristan Charboneau enjoyed a good flying lap qualification with ninth choice of gate, but the youngster's luck gave out at turn one of the opening moto on Saturday afternoon when he was involved in a first turn collision and faced a tough ride from last to twenty-first, one position outside the points. Sunday morning was initially kinder as he held a strong eighth for several laps but he again failed to score.
 
Kim Savaste, the third member of the team, continued his learning year in the 250cc class. The Finnish teenager had only been able to ride again two weeks before the EMX250 series opener as he recovered from a serious back injury sustained the previous September at the world national team contest and had inevitably failed to qualify at the first two rounds but a solid seventeenth place in qualification was a good base to secure thirteenth in each race.
